LAHORE - A man slaughtered his younger brother over some domestic issue in Kahna police station limits yesterday.

Police believe that it was family dispute however some locals of the area are of the view that the brothers had clashed over property.

Aslam, 15, son of Inayat, was working in fields when his brother Ameen, 23, came over there. They had a fight first and then Ameen slaughtered Aslam with a sharp knife.

The accused then went home and told his mother what he had done. Police are yet to register a case and arrest the killer.

Fines and arrests over profiteering: CDGL’s Price Control Magistrate yesterday raided over 1,366 places in the city, and imposed Rs91,300 fines on shopkeepers for overpricing.

The magistrates also lodged FIRs against 106 people while 207 people were arrested out of which 93 were sent to jail directly on the spot.

DCO Captain (r) Muhammad Usman said that drive against profiteering and overcharging was ongoing and no one would be allowed to exploit the public.

Moreover, the DCO visited Ramazan bazaars in Shadman and Raiwind areas and inquired citizens about the arrangements made there.

According to a statement issued by city district government yesterday, over 182,000 people visited the 31 Ramazan bazaars in the city.

Three injured in roof collapse: Three people were injured when the roof a dilapidated house collapsed, INP news agency reported.

Rescuers said that the tragedy took place in Nawab Town.  Three people were present in the houses were buried under the debris and were seriously injured.

Neighbours also joined rescue efforts and shifted the injured to hospital where one of them is reported to be critical.
