LAHORE -  Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Margaret Adamson has said that Australian government wants a long-term collaboration with the Lahore University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences.

She was speaking at a meeting with UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, faculty members and farmers yesterday.

The high commissioner said that UVAS is a leading university in veterinary, animal and related sciences and Australia has a very useful partnership with it in agriculture specifically livestock sector.

She said that agriculture, including livestock, is the pillar of the economies of both Australia and Pakistan and key to their development. She also listed some challenges i.e seasonal variations, water deficiency, etc, to agriculture for which she said both the countries need to work together and have partnerships.

Food Festival: Moreover, the Australian High commissioner organised a food festival for Lahorites. Provincial Finance Minister Dr Aysha Ghous Pasha, former trade minister Dr Hafeez Pasha, journalists and people from all walks of life attended it.
