LAHORE - A departmental inquiry has been initiated against two police officers who allegedly shot fires at two real brothers who later succumbed to wounds after their bike collided with a wall on Sunday night. Iqbal Town Division Superintendent of Police (SP) Operations Cap (r) Romail Akram said the inquiry had been initiated against the alleged officers including Ahmed Raza and Khalid. Two DSPs including DSP Gulshan Ravi, DSP Nawankot and SHO Nawankot had been jointly investigating the various aspects regarding the untoward incident, which claimed two lives including Farhan and Salman. SHO Gulshan Ravi Imran Pasha has intentionally been not included in the Inquiry team for the satisfaction of the parents, sources close to the investigators said. The investigators said on the advice of the ill-fated parents, the SP had ordered for a formal inquiry. Romail said no doubt the incident was quite terrible but after seeking dozens of verbal statements from the eyewitnesses it was established so far that both of the brothers were driving the bike without legal documents, which perhaps forced them to flee from the spot when the police officers signalled them to stop. But a proper action would be taken after the inquiry team forwards recommendations towards me, he remarked. Appreciating the parents of the deceased brothers, SP Romail Akram said despite the fact they were facing unpleasant circumstances but they cooperated with police positively. He, however, said within one week the final recommendations of inquiry teams would be made public.
