ISLAMABAD Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif followed his partys decision not to sit with Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on the stage during his address to the nation on Sunday, sources said on Monday. Unlike his two fellow chief ministers, the Punjab Chief Minister expressed his inability to the Prime Minister to sit alongside with him on the stage at the time of his address to the nation. Since PML-N was not taken on board about the contents of the PM speech, therefore, it was a useless exercise to accompany him on the stage, the Chief Ministers Spokesman, Senator Pervez Rashid informed TheNation. Other sources privy to these developments maintained that Prime Minister Gilani had telephonically contacted the Punjab Chief Minister and invited him to accompany him on the stage but he expressed his inability in this regard. Sources were of the view that the Prime Minister had invited PPP leader and Senior Minister in the Punjab Cabinet, Raja Riaz after refusal of the Punjab Chief Minister. They said that Shahbaz Sharif was invited, however, his Spokesman insisted that he was not invited quickly adding that there was no justification of the event to address the issue of appointment of judges of the higher judiciary, who always took oath under the Constitution.
