Rawalpindi - Crackdown against food outlets not meeting cleanliness standard would continue without discrimination, said Cantonment Executive Officer CEO Dr Saima Shah.

Talking to APP here on Sunday, she said that strict action would be taken against the violators adding that their business would be closed if they not meet the required standard.

She said there is no place for those indulging in the sale of substandard food items and minting money, adding no one would be allowed to play with the people’s health.

The cantonment board has decided that operation would be enhanced to street level and action would be initiated against small hotels and food outlets soon.

Earlier, Cantt board administration raided restaurant, hotels-Texas and Namak Mandi and some other famous food outlets and fined them worth thousands of rupees.

Meanwhile, the encroachers have set-up their businesses including

Saddar, Tench Bhata, Range Road, 22 Number Chungi, Bakra Mandi, Kamalabad and Dhoke Syedan road.
