The district administration has fixed CCTV cameras at 120 places in the district to monitor the activities of suspected people to maintain peace in the district during Muharram.

Various army and district administration officers reviewed different routes of Muharram processions and places of Majalis in Jalalpur Bhattian, Pindi Bhattian and Hafizabad and expressed their satisfaction over the security arrangements made by the authorities. They directed the personnel of TMA, Wapda, gas, PTCL, Recue-1122 and policemen to remain on red alert and warned that no tolerance would be made towards the negligent personnel.

Meanwhile, DPO Shakir Hussain Dawar said that Army would also be called according to the urgency of the situation. However, he said that 1,500 cops have been deputed to ensure peace during the month.

GOVT CLAIMS: Punjab Parliamentary Secretary for Food Asadullah Arain said that the government was committed to improving socio-economic development of growers and to enhancing per acre yield of crops.

Talking to journalists in Hafizabad, he said that Kissan Package of PM was historic and growers friendly and added it would change the destiny of farmers and increase per acre agricultural production in the country.

He said that the government was giving subsidy of billion of rupees to farmers for procuring agriculture equipments, seeds, fertilisers and tractors. He said that the federal government had reduced mark-up on agricultural loans and Rs5,000 per acre subsidy would be provided to paddy growers throughout the country. To a question, he said that more than Rs1 billion were being spent to the rehabilitate infrastructure in rural and flood-affected areas of the district.

To another question, he said that the government had made foolproof security arrangements throughout the province for maintaining peace during the holy month of Muharram.
