ISLAMABAD - Pakistan on Sunday condemned the terrorist attack on a gathering in eastern city of Saihat (Al Qatif) of Saudi Arabia on Friday that had resulted in killing of five persons and injuries to several others.

The government and the people of Pakistan convey deep condolences to the brotherly people and government of Saudi Arabia as well as the bereaved families over the loss of precious lives and pray for quick recovery of those wounded in the attack.

We reaffirm our full support to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and are confident that under the able leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques the menace of terrorism will be overcome, the statement said.

Pakistan reiterates its condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

Meanwhile, twelve-day counter-terrorism exercises Al-Shahab-I between armed forces of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will begin near Kharian on Monday.

A contingent of 57 Saudi personnel has arrived Pakistan to take part in the exercises. This is for the first time that the two countries are holding joint counter-terrorism exercises.
