LAHORE - Progressive Group, a representative platform of the traders and industrialists, has decided to revamp its body and bring in young, energetic and active people as its office-bearers for playing an effective role in raising voice for the cause of traders’ community.

Progressive Group President Khalid Usman dissolved the Executive Committee of the Group in a recent meeting, which was convened to review the performance in the last elections of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). The participants expressed satisfaction over the performance displayed by the group members as their joint candidates fielded from the platform of Progressive & Lahore Businessmen Front Alliance almost maintained the votes they bagged in the elections in the corresponding year.

Some of the Executive Committee members expressed their inability to continue as EC member and desired to retire from their offices after which, the meeting decided to give chances to new players. A 10-member committee was constituted which would carry out fresh membership and then select a new Executive Committee with the consultation of members so as to launch a contact drive in the markets and industrial sector of the provincial metropolis for conveying the message and appraise the businessmen reasons for which Progressive Group launched its efforts in the LCCI.
