SADIQABAD - The grabbed piece of land provided by the Punjab government for Government Elementary Boys School, FFC Chowk GT Road, has been retrieved by the Sadiqabad assistant commissioner.On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Malik Abdul Jabbar took the action to retrieve the land worth tens of millions of rupees. The Punjab government had provided 13 canals out of which a piece of 8 canals was in illegal possession of land mafia. Flanked by personnel of the police and Tehsil Municipal Administration, the AC retrieved the land and bulldozed the wall constructed by the grabbers for possession. However, the woman who was appointed as guardian of the land has been provided a shelter in Jinnah Abadi scheme. With school Principal Asif Mehmood and M Saleem at his side, the AC pledged to take a stern action against the grabbers. He said that with the retrieval, now the school will be upgradaded thereby facilitating the local students regarding getting education. It was also learnt that the grabbers were trying to pressure the AC in order to stop the operation but he did not give in to it.
