PESHAWAR - Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) will hold long march in Peshawar on October 1, 2012 in order to condemn blasphemous film, possible operation in North Waziristan, resumption of Nato supplies and drone attacks in Fata.

The march will begin at 10:00 am and after passing through GT Road and University Road, its participants would assemble at Jamrud Railway crossing point where central leadership of DPC including Maulana Samiul Haq, Syed Munawar Hassan, Hafiz Saeed and others would address the marchers.

The speakers will criticise the US in strong words for blasphemous film, possible operation in North Waziristan, resumption of Nato supplies and drone attacks in Fata.

Besides, the DPC will also hold a tribal jirga at Bannu on September 25.

These decisions were made at a meeting of the DPC, which is a conglomerate of over 40 religions and political parties.

Prominent among those who attended the meeting were Provincial president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S), Maulana Yousaf Shah, general secretary Ikramullah Shahid, leader of Jamaat Ahle-Sunnah Maulana Ismail Darvesh, Abdul Waheed Shah of Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Maulana Khalil Ahmad Mukhlis of JUI-Nazriyati.

The participants of the DPC meeting asked government to expel US diplomats immediately, adding they would continue efforts till end of the US intervention in the country.

The meeting also reviewed arrangements for holding the scheduled long march in Peshawar on October 1, 2012.
