NANKANA SAHIB - In the modern day without education a person cannot grow into what he/she wants to accomplish. In Pakistan, there is a dire need for an educated work and skilled force as a country cannot grow economically without it. Education is the best asset a person can own. It is something which cannot be stolen but easily shared.  Former IB DG Brig (r) Ijaz Ahmed Shah expressed the views during a certificate distribution ceremony held here the other day Young Educational Society (YES) organised the special English improvement, communication and spoken skills’ course certificates distribution ceremony. YES Patron-in-Chief Prof Sh Zafar Iqbal, Prof Tariq Ghayoor, Rai Mukaram, Bilal Khalid, Rao Usman, Saad Waqas Bhatti, Mansoor Ashraf, Hanan Rasheed, Taseer Ahmed, former district nazim Peer Mumtaz Shah, Private Schools Association President GQ Alvi, Media Association of Nankana SVP Asif Ali Bhatti, Public Safety Commission Chairman Amanat Ali Bhatti, Bar President and General Secretary, Sh Raiz Ahmed, Hafiz Zahid, Director Dar-e-Arqam schools Sh Saleem Ahmed and hundreds of college students, notable of the city and representative of media attended the ceremony. The former IB DG said, “Although important goal is to reduce economic inequity to improve the health status of population, emphasis on education can provide substantial benefits even without eliminating the economic gap between the rich and the poor.”On the occasion, YES President Rana Waqas Adeel, General secretary Farooq Younas Gill informed the participants that 278 members of YES were studying in different universities/colleges across the country in various disciplines like medical, engineering, pharmacy, earth science, agricultural science, IT computer sciences, law, textile and commerce. They said that the YES had conducted seven 15-day short courses in communication and inter-personal skills and other with more than 67 participants under supervision of different universities in the district. Speaking on the occasion, Sh Shahid Mehmood appreciated the constructive role of YES. Former Tehsil nazim Shahzad Khan also addressed the participants. Later, the certificated were distributed to the students by the Brig (r) Ijaz Shah, Khalid Khan and Engr Sh Shahid Mehmood.
