KARACHI - Karachi Commissioner Roshan Ali Sheikh Tuesday said that all industrial units, factories and companies must revisit their safety measures and institutions concerned should devise a comprehensive policy to prevent Baldia blaze-like incidents in future.He stated this while presiding over a meeting of Enforcement Technical Committee formed to assess safety and emergency measures in factories at his office. The commissioner directed the technical committee to prepare a report in three days containing complete details of emergency and safety measures in city factories and companies. He asked the committee to divide their recommendations into different categories with category ‘A’ require industrialists to implement proposed safety measures in six months.He said adopting such steps was never meant to harass industrialists, but ensuring that safety measures in industries were up to international standards so that foreign investment could be attracted.
