RAWALPINDI - Punjab Emergency Service (PES) Rescue 1122 and City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) would hold a workshop to evolve fire safety strategy for high risk and high rise buildings of factories and production units in the division.

The workshop would be held at Rescue 1122 Central Station, Rawal Road in which heads of different departments like Tehsil Municipal Officers, District Officer Civil Defense, District Office Labor and District Officer E&IP would also participate to identify high risk / high rise buildings and possible risk of fire in those buildings, informed Rescue 1122 spokesman here on Tuesday.

According to him, Dr Abdur Rahman, District Emergency Officer, Rescue 1122 would give briefing to all participants on fire risk, fire fighting difficulties and fire safety standards according to Building Factory Act and building by laws.

The emergency service has already developed a checklist and circulated to all registered industries so that the existing condition of factories / industries can be acquired and necessary action could be taken accordingly, he said. He said that the emergency service started such surveys in all districts of Punjab so that fire safety measure could be implemented in high-risk buildings.
