JHANG - At least ten people were killed and seven other injured critically in separate incidents of honour killing, land dispute and mishaps here in the district over the past 24 hours. As per detail, one Kaneez Bibi and her young son Muzzaffar Ahmad, resident of Dubkalan, were killed and three other people sustained injuries when a motorcycle they were going on was hit by a motorcycle rickshaw near Adda Kot Allah Yar on Shorkot-Jhang road. The Shorkot Police have registered a case of the incident. In another, cross-firing between two groups on a land dispute left two people identified as Muhammad alias Moodi and Furrukh alias Bhoori, residents of Chak 230-JB dead. Three persons were also injured in the incident and were admitted to DHQ Hospital. The Bhowana Police have registered a case. Similarly, a man was killed during fire in jubilation at the wedding ceremony of DPO office clerk. They deceased identified as Nabeel Ahmad was hit by a stray bullet. In another incident, a student namely Habib Ahmad drowned in Chenab River near Bhowana. His dead body was recovered by Rescue 1122 after hectic struggle for four hours. Meanwhile, one Abdul Rahman was killed while his friend Fayyaz Ahmad sustained injuries when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding truck near Adda Jeawan Shah on Jhang-Bhowana Road.  On the other hand, Zafar Ahmed, a resident of Mauza Waddan situated in the Qadirpur Police precincst was shot dead by Muhammad Nawaz and Iqbal Ahmad for honour. They suspected that Zafar had developed illicit relations with the sister of the accused. The Qadirpur Police have registered a case.  Similarly, aerial firing at a wedding ceremony in Chak 239/JB claimed the life of Kaleemullah. The Bhowana Police registered a case of the incident. In yet another incident, schoolteacher Master Lal Baidil, a resident of Jalalpur in the remit of Shorkot Police was crushed to death by a speeding motorcycle when he was crossing Jhang-Shorkot Road. The Shorkot Police registered a case.
