RAWALPINDI - Traders of the city have decided to observe a shutter-down strike tomorrow (Thursday) to register their protest against the American blasphemous film.

Religious scholars and office bearers of traders’ associations of the city decided this at a joint meeting in Alrahman Mosque. They decided that they would take a protest rally to the US Embassy Islamabad to register their protest against the blasphemous film and the pastor.

The meeting was attended by religious scholars, including Qazi Mushtaq, Maulana Abdul Rauf, Mufti Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, Mufti Rizwan and Maulana Faisal, and trader leaders, including Acting President of the Markazi Anjaman-e-Tajeraan Registers, Sharjeel Mir, President Markazi Anjaman-e-Tajeraan Rawalpindi, Malik Shahid Ghafoor Paracha along with Sheikh Saleem, Ghulam Qadir Mir, Tahir Tajir Bhatti, Suhail Sadiq and others.

Later, Sharjeel Mir met Pir Naqee-ur-Rahman and requested him to send his representatives in the rally.

Meanwhile, Islamabad Bar Association (IBA) on Tuesday convened a general body session and decided to register a peaceful protest in front of US Embassy today (September 19). Talking to this agency, IBA President Syed Javed Akbar Shah Mashhadi informed that IBA strongly condemned the video ridiculing Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and it had spread a wave of hatred in muslim world against the USA.

He emphasised on America to take a stern action against the culprit on immediate basis.
