HAFIZABAD-The villagers of Kuriala have protested against the installation of heavy electricity transformers and filth depot quite adjacent to Government Girls Elementary School Kuriala.

The students and their parents said that the school lacks various basic amenities and no boundary wall was constructed to provide safety to the students and teachers. So much so, the piles of filth and garbage dumped quite near the school and the foul smell emanating from the dump cause multiple ailments to the students and staff, they added. The installation of two transformers and overhead low lying high voltage electricity cables are constant danger to the students and the staff.

Due to deplorable conditions in the school, the parents were constrained to enroll their daughters in private schools which was badly affecting the government campaign to ensure maximum enrollment in the government schools.

They have called upon the district administration, Commissioner Gujranwala and Chief Minister to order for the provision of missing facilities, removal of filth dump and transformers from near the school.
