RAWALPINDI-On charges of corruption, false investigation into a murder case and clandestine relations with the criminals, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Nasir Khan Durrani Friday dismissed four police officers from service. As per details, Zulfiqar Hussain of Dhudial (Chakwal) lodged a complaint with RPO Nasir Durrani that Police Station (PS) Dhudial Sub Inspector (SI) Muhammad Ashraf received Rs 35,000 as bribe from him in a case and later on the influence of his rivals threatened him to implicate in a fake case. The RPO entrusted SP Khuram Shahzad to submit report after inquiry. He after conducted complete inquiry into the case submitted that the allegation levelled against SI M Ashraf were true. He also recommended strict departmental action against the SI. In light of the report, the RPO suspended SI Muhammad Ashraf and also issued show cause notice to him. Upon failure in furnishing satisfactory reply to the show cause notice, the SI was dismissed from service. Meanwhile, PS Murree SI Nazir Ahmed was also dismissed from service by RPO Durrani on charges of wrong investigation into a murder case. One Mushtaq Ali resident of Murree appeared before RPO Nasir and told him that SI Nazir Ahmed after taking bribe termed the nominated killers innocent. RPO constituted a committee to investigate into the matter that after through inquiry found the said SI guilty. Nasir Durrani dismissed SI Nazir Ahmed from police department. In the third case, RPO Nasir Durrani was informed by his sources that Head Constable Irshad Hussain Shah and Constable Saif Ullah were mixing up with criminals, receiving bhatha from narcotics peddlers, providing them shelter for running their illegal business and also enjoyed bad reputation in the area. Nasir Khan Durrani assigned a disciplinary committee comprising senior officers to look into the matter that after thorough enquiry found the allegations correct and recommended their removal from service. In the light of recommendations of committee, Regional Police Officer dismissed Head Constable Irshad Hussain Shah and Constable Saif Ullah from service with immediate effect.
