KARACHI - A party worker of Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) was shot dead on Friday, while two of his companions were injured in the limits of Sharifabad Police Station. As per details, a 45-year-old man Raees, son of Zahoor, was gunned down while two others Khushnood 40 and Haroon 36 sustained bullet injuries in a firing incident took place in Furniture Market situated in Liaquatabad No 4. DSP Raza Hussain Shah declared the incident a target killing and said that the deceased was the target of the culprits. Raees was the MQM-H worker but officially no one, even the family of the deceased, has claimed of his affiliation with MQM-H, said the DSP Shah. We are also checking the police record of the deceased but still we did not have any clue that suggests that he was involved in any criminal activity. The deceased and the injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities and medical treatment from where the injured were discharged. Deceased was said to be the father of eight children. The case would be registered on behalf of the deceaseds brother-in-law. Co-chairman MQM-Haqqiqi (Afaq Group) Shamshad Khan Ghouri when contacted said, Of course, our party workers are being targeted and killed in the city. Owing the deceaseds affiliation with the MQM-H, Ghouri claimed that the deceased was their party activist. The deceased use to run a furniture showroom situated in the premises of his house where the incident took place.
