OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - The 47th meeting of the Committee of Chairman & Directors Technical Education (CCDT) was held at the Office premises of PBTE; Lahore. Chairman Committee, Dr. Shafiq Ahmed who is also Chairman of PBTE, presided over the meeting. Among the members including Prof. Muhammad Saeed Siddiqui Chairman BTE Sindh, Amanullah Khan Secretary, BTE (KP), Muhammad Ramzan Achakzai Secretary IBCC, Amanullah Choudhry Secretary, PBTE, Javed Malik GM (Academic) Tevta and others participated the meeting. The committee discussed at length various ideas and proposals in order to meet the challenges of modern era. It was felt to increase the number of meeting to make the committee dynamic and vibrant and decided to hold at least three meetings in a year. The committee appreciated the innovative idea of the chairman BTE (KP) to change the syllabus of post Matric, 2 year Diploma in Commerce, 3 year Diploma of Associate Engineers (DAE) in order to equip the students with skills and training pre-requisite for competing in the cut-throat competition of modern time. It was resolved to constitute a curriculum revision committee consisting of 3 experts and Secretary IBCC under the convenership of the chairman CCDT. The committee also took into consideration statues of trade testing boards and skill development councils functioning Parallel to the Boards of Technical Education in the Provinces resulting in overlapping of jurisdiction of each other and decided to constitute a committee which would digs out a comprehensive plan after considering technical and legal connotations. The committee also appreciated proposal of Punjab Technical Board LHR to adopt academic audit Performa for quality assurance, of all its affiliated institutes as well as adoption of Tevta Developed courses by all BTEs. A part from these decision the committee decided to enhance the term of the chairman of the committee from 1 year to 2 years and urged to increase annual subscription for mitigating the Scarcity of the resolved for the committee.
