OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir has said that extreme caution should be taken before appointing any security guard. In his order, the CCPO directed all divisional SPs to thoroughly check offices of all private security agencies, operating in their respective areas, and personally check the veracity of security guards inducted by them. He said it should be checked whether the private security agencies, which have inducted these guards have done so in accordance with government approved rules and regulations or not, whether these private security agencies are operating illegally or without registration, whether the guards have been properly registered at the police station concerned and their residential addresses have been properly checked, whether any security guard has ever been involved in anti-national activities and whether the armaments of these private security agencies have been properly licenced by the government or not. CCPO further directed all divisional SPs to thoroughly check the offices of private security agencies and verify security guards deputed by them at various offices and private residences. 8 cops suspended: DIG Operations Ghulam Mahmood Dogar has suspended eight police officials including a Sub-Inspector on charges of showing negligence here on late Saturday. The DIG paid surprise visit of different police stations Shadman, Racecourse, Mustafaabad, Ravi Road, Johar Town and others and suspended police officials. The top cop was in plainclothes and visited each police station while becoming a common complainant, an anonymous police officer said. He, however, said this attitude of the DIG would definitely bring positive results in Thana Culture.
