After getting the shove from Simon Cowells US X Factor, Cheryl Cole was dropped from a royal dinner guest list and hadnt been seen in public for the best part of a month - but now a friend is claiming the singer has moved back in with ex-husband Ashley. Cheryl, who was relieved of her judging duties on the American X Factor at the end of May, is said to have stayed the night at the couples Surrey mansion before her footballer ex left for his holiday in Los Angeles. The Girls Aloud singer is believed to be staying at his house in order to keep a low profile, while Ashley suns himself in California. Speaking to the News of the World, a friend said, 'She knew Ashley was going away so it made sense to be there. They spent the night together and got on brilliantly. 'They were saying what a special night it was. They were smoking and having a few drinks, a friend told the News of the World. 'There wasnt any awkwardness between the two of them and they seemed very comfortable together...Who knows what will happen when Ashley gets back from his holiday? Meanwhile, there was more bad news for Cheryl from across the pond when the 27-year-olds invitation to a royal dinner party in Los Angeles was withdrawn. The exclusive reception held by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will take place next month when they arrive in the US for their first oversees tour and it was the event at which Cheryl was planning to make her comeback. However, sources now claim that the singer has been dropped from the guest list and that she has been replaced by Gordon Ramsay. A source told NOTW: 'Its yet another blow for Cheryl and the last thing she needs at the moment. The whole of Hollywood wants an invite to this dinner. 'But without the X Factor, there is no reason for her to be there. It would have been the event where she shone with all America looking for the first time. Metro
