LAHORE - Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the most modern Forensic Lab of South Asia is being set up in the provincial metropolis which will prove to be a milestone in the investigation of crimes on scientific lines, tracing out criminals and provision of justice to the people in Punjab. He said that the building has been completed and machinery has also arrived while the Forensic Lab will start functioning soon. He was talking to media men during the visit to Punjab Forensic Science Agency at Thokar Niaz Baig here on Sunday. The Chief Minister said that the project of setting up Forensic Lab of international standard is very important which will help trace out criminal elements for bringing them to book. He said that there are some technological problems with regard to the Forensic Lab. Earlier, Project Director Nayyer Mahmood apprised the Chief Minister of the progress on the Forensic Lab project. MPA Saif-ul-Malook Khokhar, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretary Home, Secretary Health and senior officers concerned also attended the briefing meeting.
