ISLAMABAD - Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar has embarked on a 'make or break mission to get her portfolio elevated to federal minister for foreign affairs ahead of two crucial upcoming events, sources said on Sunday. Hina Rabbani Khar has told the party high command that she should be elevated ahead of two important events falling shortly, which are the Indo-Pak ministerial level talks being scheduled for next month and upcoming US-Pakistan Strategic Dialogue, well-placed sources told TheNation. The sources have said that Khars move comes chiefly for two reasons; firstly she wants to make it sure that she is elevated ahead of her delegation level meetings with Indian and US counterparts, and secondly she is struggling to scuttle the backdoor efforts of other party aspirants seeking to grab the prestigious cabinet slot. However, sources were not much upbeat over the prospects of Khars getting her portfolio changed.
