ISLAMABAD - Met Director Muhammad Hanif has said that the prevailing harsh weather conditions will continue during the next 48 hours in most parts of the country. 

Talking to PTV news, Director Hanif said that rain thundershower along with gusty winds occurred at scattered places of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Hazara, Peshawer divisions,Kashmir, at isolated places in Malakand division and Gilgit-Baltistan.

He said as monsoon is reaching upper parts of the country, increasing humidity has made the weather more difficult.

“Pre-monsoon rains have started in upper parts of the country that would decrease intensity of heat wave in these areas”, he informed. However, he said that people in central and southern parts will continue to experience extremely hot weather conditions.

He said that Turbat remained hottest place in the country where mercury rose as high as 50 degree Celsius. He said that seasonal low lies over Balochistan and adjoining areas while moist currents from Arabian Sea are penetrating into upper parts of the country and a shallow westerly wave is also prevailing over northern parts of the country.
