Bahawalpur- The 58th meeting of the Islamia University Bahawalpur’s Syndicate was held here which was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar.

The meeting discussed various academic, administrative, financial and other issues and approved many cases including development schemes.

On the occasion, the participants were informed that the HEC had allocated a sum of Rs863 million for the up-gradation of different departments and construction of buildings of the university while the Punjab government had announced a grant of Rs465 million for the installation of 2.5 megawatt Solar Energy Plant at the IUB for which tenders would be invited soon.

It was informed that work on the building of a centre for teachers training would be started soon which would be completed with a grant of Rs300 million under the USAID Programme.

The members of the IUB Syndicate expressed satisfaction over the improvement of the university’s overall ranking in the country and greeted the VC for additional charge as VC Ghazi University.

LHC Bahawalpur Bench Justice Altaf Ibrahim Qureshi, MPA Ch Khalid Mehmood Jajja besides others attended the meeting.
