LAHORE - An Anti-Terrorism court on Thursday sent 44 workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek to jail on 14-day judicial remand, for their alleged involvement in attacking police officers and obstructing the operation to remove barriers outside the Minhajul Quran secretariat in Model Town.

As the proceedings started, police produced 51 accused of PAT and requested the court to send 44 of them on physical remand and exclude eight others from the process. ATC Judge Khalid Mahmood Ranjha, after hearing the case, sent 44 to jail on judicial remand.

The judge also directed to remove names of eight accused in the FIR registered against them. They were named as Yameen, Hanif, Akram, Sakhi, Mujahid Hussain, Sheron and Haroon.

Meanwhile, the court was moved by bail applications for all accused sent on judicial remand. The court accepted the applications and issued notices to both parties for June 21.
