LAHORE - A judicial magistrate on Thursday sent Gullu Butt, accused of damaging vehicles outside Minhajul Quran Secretariat in Model Town, to jail on 14-day physical remand. Police produced Gullu Butt, active member of PML-N with covered face but the people present in the court recognised him and started beating him while being in custody. Two police officers, who were taking him to the court, could not protect Gullu Butt from the wrath of the public, particularly lawyers.

Remaining failed to guard him from fury, police officers directed him to “lie down” in order to save his life amid continuous beating. However, the cops, later on, managed to shift him to nearby hospital in critical condition.

After he regained his senses, the police presented him again before a judicial magistrate with heavy security and requested a physical remand. However, according to a senior police officer, physical remand was not needed as the club, he used to damage vehicles with, had already been recovered. While the judge sent Gullu to jail on 14-day judicial remand. Gullu was brought into the case after electronic media caught him live damaging the vehicles outside the Minhajul Quran secretariat in presence of police. Gullu Butt alias Sher-i-Lahore is also popular for being an active tout of police.
