Clash between two rival groups continued on the second day on Sunday in Lyari area of Karachi, claiming three more lives while over a dozen people sustained bullet injuries. Another man was shot dead in North Nazimabad area and police found three dead bodies in Northern Bypass and Khamiso Goth areas.

Gunshots echoed in most parts of Lyari as armed men from Kutchi Rabita Committee (KRC), who have taken positions in Hungorabad, kept exchanging fire with their rival group members entrenched in Shah Abdul Latif Bhattai Road area, Ali Mohammad Mohalla, Zikri Mohalla and al-Falah Road. Law enforcers had disappeared from the affected areas.

KRC claimed that their ten members, including a twelve-year-old girl, have died in two days of clash with a rival group. Saleh Muhammad, Kashif and another unidentified man were killed in the crossfire, and about one and a half dozen others were wounded. Bodies and injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and other hospitals.

Police officials said that they were unable to control the situation due to lack of strength and Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs). But SP Sardar Najam said that situation in Lyari was ‘now under control’. He said all the blocked roads now have been reopened and firing has been stopped. SHO Sanaullah said that according to their record only one person, Saleh Muhammad, of KRC was killed and four others were wounded.

On the other hand, Manghopir Police found two gunny bags carrying bodies of two young men from bushes in Northern Bypass area.

SHO Aslam Joya said that unidentified culprits shot the victims multiple times before dumping the bodies. New Karachi Industrial Police also found body of a man bearing torture marks from the bushes near Khamiso Goth. SHO Qalandar Baksh said that the age of the deceased was around 40 years.

A man namely Naseeb Sultan was shot dead in Block-S of North Nazimabad, in the precincts of Shahr-e-Noor Jahan Police. SHO Nisar Lodhi said the victim, a driver by profession, was going somewhere when unidentified armed riders targeted him. He suspected personal enmity being the motive of the murder.
