ISLAMABAD

Encroachments in various areas including Aabpara, Melody, Peshawar More, Karachi Company and other places have not still been cleared from the encroachment by the vendors and shopkeepers.

The roads, streets and footpaths in different areas of the federal capital are on the rise, creating problems both for the pedestrians and motorists.

The residents also complained of growing encroachments in the market causing inconvenience for the pedestrian and motorists.

They appealed to the concerned authorities to remove these encroachments to provide a smooth way for pedestrians and other people, visiting the market.

It is a common sight in almost all markets of the capital city that shopkeepers encroach upon pavements in front of their shops and vendors set up stalls on roads, forcing pedestrians to walk in the middle of roads, besides hindering traffic flow.

"The authorities concerned always claim to launch anti-encroachment drives, but encroachment reappear soon after operations are over," Mashkoor Ali, a resident of G-9, complained.
