The Agriculture Department Punjab has advised the farmers to use new bags for storing wheat and old bags can be used only after conducting spray on them and drying them. A spokesman of Agriculture department said on Sunday that godowns should be cleaned properly before storing wheat besides filling all the cracks and holes in the walls so that eggs of last year’s insects may get destroyed. He also advised the farmers to carry out recommended spray or fumigate the godowns. He further said that Aluminum Phosphide tablets should be used to kill rodents and other insects and keep the godowns air tight.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Karachi has issued a notification reverting flour prices to previous level. Taking notice of the rising flour prices in the city, Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqi has issued notification fixing price of fine flour at Rs 38 per kg. Commissioner Karachi has directed all deputy commissioners to ensure sale of flour at government prices across the city.
