While expressing resentment over arbitrary and uncalled for hike in power tariff by Rs5.82 per unit, local businessmen, industrialists and housewives have called upon the upcoming Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to take prompt and stern action against NEPRA and others for their attempts to create problems for the new government thus ruining the economy of Pakistan.

Scores of businessmen and other organisations have said that there was no justification in exorbitant hike while the masses were already unburdened with sky-rocketing prices of all essential commodities. They said that this arbitrary hike in tariff would prove fatal not only for industrial sector but also for domestic and commercial consumers. They demanded immediate withdrawal of NEPRA decision as the masses cannot sustain such a big hike.

Meanwhile, the Gepco has not refrained from teasing the local citizens and it has further increased the duration of loadshedding in the area today.
