OKARA - A collision among a van and two motorcycles left a woman dead and six others injured on the Okara-Faisalabad Road near Jhukkar Chawk. Mohammad Amin, a resident of 18/1.R, along with his sister Hajiran was on his way to home after condoling over a death of their relative in Kot Faizabad on his bike. At the Jhukkar Chawk, the speeding van coming from Faisalabad hit two motorcycles. As a result, Hajiran died on the spot, whereas her brother Amin and a a passer-by Abida her two children and the rider of the other bike, Noorullah were seriously injured. They were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Okara. Separately, two minor labourers were electrocuted at Harniyawala Chawk on Ravi Road. Usama (16) and Akbar were on job. Both the workers washed carpet of an office and went up stair to put it in the sun. Suddenly, the carpet fell on 11,000 KV electricity wires. As a result, the boys suffered electric shocks died instantly. TRACTORS, BIKE SNATCHED: In Qila Sondha Singh, two tractors and a motorcycle were snatched on gunpoint. The landlords of Qila Sondha Singh, Muhammad Ashraf, Anwar, Rasheed were levelling their farmland with a tractor (6938/OK) and (7584/KSB) when all of a sudden six armed dacoits held them at gunpoint and snatched both tractors and a motorcycle besides mobile phones and fled away.
