OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE An elderly couple, whose daughter was kidnapped by the accused party, has demanded to the LHC Chief Justice and Provincial Police chief to provide them justice as the local police of Multan was patronising the accused for the last three years. Addressing a Press conference at Lahore Press Club on Wednesday, the woman Azeeza Bibi along with her husband Fateh Muhammad, hailing from Basti Malook of Multan, said her daughter Farzana was kidnapped by one Akhtar in 2008. She said the entire family of Akhtar had fled their home, leaving their cattle and other household things behind them. Later, a private bus company owner and MPA Ibraheem Khan held a local meeting {Panchayat} where he decided to hand over the entire luggage and cattle of Akhtar to his maternal uncles, she added. She further said owing to moral crisis the family avoided to lodge FIR of kidnapping against Akhtar and his family but during July 2011 one Ghulam Yaseen, father of Akhtar, managed to get lodged an FIR of theft against the victim family. She said around 12 persons brothers, step brothers, nieces and other relatives - have been nominated in FIR 368/11 under Section 380. We are being victimised by all means even the local police started patronising the accused openly, she said, adding the victim family approached the quarters concerned but none of them wished to help her without getting bribe. According to her claim, an ASI Ashfaq Ali received bribe Rs 50, 000 from the victim family by promising of discharging the case but no avail. To a query, she said the aforesaid police officer had forced her doing so but later he started hurling life threats in case she approached him again. On which, the woman submitted an FIR in Anti-Corruption Multan whereas the officers concerned were allegedly demanding bribe for discharging official duties. She has appealed to the Chief Justice and IG Punjab to direct authorities concerned and provide her justice.
