OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - Emergency Response Committee for Dengue Chairman Mian Marghoob Ahmad has said that in Samanabad Town, 4471 indoor residual spray cases have been disposed of in the light of online lists of Health Department and rest of the 313 IRS cases would be completed on Thursday (today) while 313 complaints regarding cleanliness and other related issues have also been addressed. He was presiding over a meeting in Samanabad Town office here on Wednesday. Marghoob Ahmad directed the town officers to conduct a comprehensive survey of the graveyards situated in the town and point out possible places of dengue larva and make arrangements for larviciding. Regarding cleanliness campaign in town, he said that the arrival of sacrificial animals in Lahore has started and town officers would have to keep the animals outside the town limits. Marghoob told that larviciding teams of Samanabad Town have also pointed out the dengue larva in Shah Noor, Bari and Evernew studios and they have conducted larviciding, spray and fogging process in these areas. Moreover, Marghoob directed the town officers to enhance the fogging and spray activities in the town so that anti-dengue campaign could become a success. Meanwhile, Chairman Dengue Control Committee Nishter Town Naseer Bhutta has said that women can effectively organise and persuade the families regarding protective measures of dengue fever. He said boys and girls students can inform the society about preventive steps against dengue virus in a better way and positive results have been brought out after the participation of male and female students in the campaign against dengue fever. He expressed these views at the awareness seminars held at Government Girls High School Green Town and Government Boys High School Green Town. Naseer Bhutta said that youngsters, NGOs and students should extend full cooperation to the government for eradicating dengue virus and join the going on campaign in this regard and the government was extending cooperation with the students and educational institutions for holding seminars and walks.
