OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE In order to enhance mutual cooperation, combating of terrorism, making out an effective future strategy to deal with the crime and an important interacted meeting was held between the visiting Turkish National Police delegation and Punjab Police at Police Headquarters, Punjab here on Wednesday. Inspector General of Police Punjab Javed Iqbal, Addl IG Welfare and Finance Aftab Sultan, Addl IG Punjab Ch Tanvir Ahmad, Addl IG Training Sarmed Saeed, Addl IG R&D Khuda Bakhsh Awan, Addl IG Investigation Mohammad Azam Joyia, RPO Faisalabad Aftab Ahmad Cheema and AIG Training Raja Rifat discussed the issues of mutual cooperation and new strategies to enhance capacity building, with Ahmet PEK alongwith his delegation. Political Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab Col Shuja Khan Zada exclusively attended the aforesaid meeting. During the meeting, the Turkish delegation expressed their views about their visits of various police institutions and praised the methodical and meticulous working. The IGP complemented the Turkish guest and hope their visit would bring deeper understanding between two brotherly countries. FIVE KIDNAPPERS ARRESTED: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) arrested five kidnappers, recovered unlicensed firearms and stolen property. According to the spokesman, PHP team Jahanian Shah, Sargodha, stopped a vehicle (No 99/RIP) and recovered one pistol (30 bore) from the possession of Muhammad Qasim and one pistol (30 bore) from Ghazanfar Abbas, Muhammad Imran, Hussain Haider, Muhammad Ishaq and a woman namely Faiz Batool. Later, PHP team Ghumanwala, Gujranwala also recovered stolen cash amounted to Rs 29000/- from the possession of a suspicious person namely Akhtar Hussain. Meanwhile, PHP team Sakaiser, Sargodha recovered one pistol (30 bore) from the possession of Muhammad Aslam, Sargodha whereas PHP team Marlay Chowk, Pakpattan, recovered one rifle (12 bore) from the possession of a suspicious person namely Shakeel Haider.
