While digging for the construction of a plaza at Liberty Market in Lahore, five workers in a mishap were buried beneath a landslide, which killed one and injured three. The digging of for basement of the Plaza was underway late a night, when suddenly a landslide occurred burying five workers, of whom, Arif, 34 passed away, while his three associates Muhammad Rafique, Sultan Shah and Nazir Ahmad were wounded. Workers said that the deceased were the natives of Sialkot and the contractor had hired them late at night at Rs300 each for digging the basement. The relief team taking timely action rescued the workers from the debris. Police said that the facts would be known after investigations.
