MINGORA - Unknown armed persons Friday shot dead two security guards of a commercial bank here after attacking the bank vehicle and looted an amount of Rs 9.8 million in Dakorak village, Charbagh. The Fonex vehicle after collecting cash from different banks of Madayan, Behran, Khawazakhela, Fatehpur and other villages was on its way to Mingora when intercepted by armed persons. The armed persons first pelted the vehicle with hand grenades and later opened firing. As a result, driver Muhammad Omar son of Muhammad Khan and security guard Mukhtar Ahmad son of Sham Malik died on the spot, whereas two others sustained serious injuries. The officials informed that the condition of injured persons, Amir Muhammad and Sarfaraz Khan, was critical. The police officials informed that unknown armed persons took away a huge amount of Rs 9.8 million from the vehicle. The police have registered the case, however, no arrest has been made yet. The local officials and people believe that alleged Taliban are involved in this robbery case.
