Islamabad: As Eidul Azha nears; butchers in Islamabad have fixed rates for slaughtering sacrificial animals.

The rates have been fixed Rs2,000 for goat and sheep and Rs5,000 for cow and other big animals, including elephants.

On the other hand, the citizens have expressed their surprise over the unilateral decision of the butchers, who did not wait for official rates. Atif Ali, a resident of Aabpara said that people are already displeased over increasing prices of sacrificial animals, the sudden increase in rates for slaughtering has put further burden on the masses. He said that the local administration should fix the price instead of allowing butchers to fix the same.
