Peshawar/Attock/Faisalabad/ RAHIMYAR KHAN - Funeral prayers of those martyred in terrorist attack on Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Camp at Badaber near Peshawar were held at their respective native towns on Saturday.

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has registered an FIR against unknown persons.The investigation teams have collected evidences from the area and also got fingerprints and blood samples of the killed terrorists. The investigators have also recorded statements of the injured and other eyewitnesses.

Meanwhile, during a joint operation conducted by Security Forces and secret agencies in Ahmedpur area, former owner of pick up used in terrorists attack on PAF base in has been arrested and shifted to unspecified location for interrogation. According to police, Asif had sold out his pick up to his brother in law who later sold it to a person from Waziristan. The vehicle was sold out at five different places.

Police have started search for brother in law of Asif and the person from Waziristan who had purchased vehicle from brother in law of Asif.

Elsewhere, all the martyrs were laid to rest with guards of honour in their native areas soon after funeral prayers attended by massive gatherings. Besides, a large number of people, high-level civil and military officials attended the funeral ceremony.

According to details, martyred captain Shaheed Asfandyar Bukhari was laid to rest in his native Attock with full military honours after the funeral prayer, attended by a huge number of people.

Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) technician Nadeem’s funeral prayer was offered in native Talagang and was attended by PAF officers, relatives and a large number of locals. The active contingent of PAF paid salutes to the martyr.

The funeral prayers of technician Aamir Shahzad Shaheed and junior technician Tariq Abbas Shaheed took place in their native Mianwali. Both martyrs were laid to rest with full military honours.

The funeral prayer of martyred Imam Maulvi Fazal Ameen was held in his native Mardan and was laid to rest at a local cemetery. The martyred personnel Israrullah was laid to rest in Mardan with full military honours.

Yasir Shaheed, the civilian employee of the airbase who also lost his life in the attack on the mosque, was laid to rest at a local cemetery in Pindi Gheb afterfuneral prayer at Gheb mosque.

The funeral prayer of martyred gardener Javed Iqbal was held in Shorkot Cantt and was laid to rest at the local cemetery. Junior technician Shaheed Shan Shaukat was laid to rest with full military honours after funeral prayer in native Faisalabad which was attended by a massive gathering. Funeral prayers of other martyrs were also offered at Kallar Kahar, Shorkot and Multan.

Ghaibana Namaz-e-Janaza of martyrs of Badaber was also offered at district courts premises in Gujranwala on Saturday. It was attended by judges, lawyers and large number of citizens.

The ambience of Peshawar is filled with gloom and grief over yesterday's Badaber incident but the morale of the people is high, and they have firm faith that the armed forces will win the war against terror.
