NEW YORK - An official of the United States Agency for InternationalDevelopment (USAID), reacting to a recent report in an American newspaper that the agency's efforts in Pakistan were yielding "dubious results", has asserted that its programmes had improved the lives of millions of Pakistani people. "Working in close partnership with civil society and the government of Pakistan, USAID has improved the lives of millions of people in Pakistan, while enhancing American national security," a USAID official said in a letter to The New York Times.
