ISLAMABAD - Farhan Mehboob made the biggest upset of the day, as he ousted third seed Danish Atlas Khan 3-2 in the first round of the CNS International Squash Championship 2013 at Roshan Khan/Jahangir Khan Squash Complex Karachi on Friday.

The event carries a total cash purse of $15,000. Talking to this scribe, Farhan said: “I must admit Danish played exceptionally well and tried to snatch the match right under my nose. I have taken a comfortable 2-0 lead and was cruising towards victory, but Danish never lost heart and bounced back and played superb squash.”

“I won the first game 13-11, the second 11-6 with relatively ease, but in the third game, it was a different Danish who played sensational tennis and took the third game 11-6 and then he won the fourth 11-9. We were fighting for every single point and the game continued to swing from one way to another, before I managed to take the crucial points and took the game 11-9. It was probably one the best matches I have played after a very long time. I will try not to repeat same mistakes in the quarterfinals and try to win the championship,” Farhan concluded.
