KARACHI -  Police have registered an FIR against Rangers personnel for allegedly torturing a suspect Billal aka Mullah to death. The case was registered on behalf of the victim’s family. One police constable was also nominated in the FIR, however, no arrests from the rangers and police side were made. Bilal along with his three companions was arrested on July 17 after the Rangers and police conducted a targeted operation in Ali Town, Sikander Goth. The operation was conducted after two paramilitary soldiers were wounded by the firing of criminals on July 15 near Rangers check post on Abul Hassan Isphahani Road, opposite Al-Asif Square in Sohrab Goth.

The FIR was registered on the complaint of Bilal’s father, Yasin at Sacchal police station. Police officials said that Rangers officials were not nominated in the FIR with their names as they would be named in the FIR after the identification parade by the complainant.

Police said that the complainant also nominated one police constable Ali Raza for helping rangers into the raid. Earlier, on Friday night, Sacchal SHO Ejaz Rajper and Station Investigation Officer Murawat were also suspended by the police high ups over the incident.
