The fresh spate of violence following May 11 general elections, erupted in the metropolis as 11 people were killed in the firing incidents in different areas.

Some unidentified miscreants lobbed a cracker at a shop near the residence of Siraj Lala, a local leader of Awami National Party (ANP) in Landhi Hospital Chowrangi. The cracker blast wounded three people.

As regards other incidents of violence, Ashiq was killed near Banaras Bridge, Hussain and Muhammed Jamal in Orangi Town and a man Yaqub was gunned down near Denso Hall.

Also, an unknown youth was shot to death in Landhi’s 36-B and a man Mehtab was killed near Malir-15 P-1 bus stop.

A 40-year man Nasir Muhammed was shot down near Airport Signal, Arshad in Old Golimar and some unidentified miscreants killed a youth Junaid in front of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in Nazimabad.

An area near Meteorological Department in Gulistan-e-Jauhar turned into flashpoint after a local office-bearer of a political party Qasim Chandio was killed here. Police and the rangers brought the volatile situation under control. While, grappling with the rioters, SHO Sahchal Saqib Goga was injured.

Police and the rangers arrested four suspected people and recovered firearms from their possession.
