Scorching heat claimed a life in the provincial capital on Monday. The 40-year-old man was rushed to hospital after he fell unconscious in the Model Town courts.

Eyewitnesses told the police that the man was walking on the footpath when he fell.  He was taken to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Police said that little was known about the man, but that he appeared reasonably fit.

The police have moved the body to morgue for autopsy and are investigating.  Medical experts say unfortunately some people don’t realise how dangerous that level of heat is and how quickly one can succumb to scorching heat.
