Scores of supporters and voters of Muttahida Deeni Mahaz (MDM) defeated candidate Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi who lost election on NA-89 and PP-78 Jhang, took out a huge rally against the what they called "worst rigging" in May 11 general elections.

It is to be noted that Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi contested election for both the National and Provincial assemblies seats and lost to PML-N candidates in NA-89 Sheikh Muhammad Akram and PP-78 Begum Rashida Yaqoob.

The rally which was participated by hundreds of people started from Ihrar Park under the leadership of Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi and other leaders of the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ).  A large number of women and children also participated in the rally. The protesters marched through Rail Bazaar Chowk, Fowara Chowk, Session Chowk, Ayoub Chowk and Yousaf Shah Road and reached near Nadar Chowk. However, the police did not allow the participants of the rally to enter court premises. The participants of rally reportedly forced the shopkeeper to close their shops.

Meanwhile, some of the women protesters attacked the main gate of courts and entered its premises after breaking locks of the Iron Gate. The participants also staged a sit-in on Yousaf Shah Road in front of Nadra Office. They were chanting slogans against the rigging in the election and demanded re-polling in the constituency. They blamed that they had won the election but the administration used unfair means to defeat them. They demanded the chief Election Commissioner to verify thumb impression of voters on polled vote through Nadara. "If this is not possible for the administration then the Chief Election Commissioner should order re-election under the supervision of army in the constituency," they elaborated.

They demanded deployment of Army presiding officers for re-polling to ensure transparent election. They warned to launch massive protest if their demands are not fulfilled.
