Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang will visit Pakistan from May 22-23 on the invitation of President Asif Ali Zardari.

The Chinese PM's visit is set to further deepen multifaceted relations between the two neighbours that always stand together in the testing times. A warm welcome awaits Premier Li upon his arrival on May 22, as it is his first visit to Pakistan after becoming the Premier of the People's Republic of China. The visit takes place immediately after the democratic elections in Pakistan. It will provide an opportunity to Premier Li to meet the new leadership in Pakistan. The visit also provides further impetus to our strategic relations. These friendly ties and the friendship with China is the cornerstone of Pakistan's foreign policy. The Government and people of Pakistan look forward to the visit of Premier Li Keqiang. 

During his two days visit the Chinese Prime Minister will meet the President Zardari who will host a luncheon for him at the Presidency on May 22. The Premier will also hold talks with the President and the Prime Minister after which there will be a joint press conference. PM Khoso will host a banquet in the honour of the visiting Premier in the evening. The Chinese Premier will also be conferred upon Nishan-e-Pakistan. The Premier will also meet leaders of the political parties.

On May 23, President of PML-N, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will call on him. The Premier will hold a joint meeting with the Chairman Senate and Speaker National Assembly and also address the Senate of Pakistan. The Premier will also visit Pakistan China Friendship Centre and meet with Pakistani friends. He will also plant a tree at Shakarparian.

During the two days visit Pakistan and China would sign a number of MoUs to enhance cooperation in various fields. Details of the agreements are still being worked out. From Pakistan, Premier Li will be heading to Switzerland and Germany. Before traveling to Pakistan, he also visited India and the two countries signed eight MoUs.
