ISLAMABAD - Rawalpindi, Lahore and Federal Education Boards qualified for the second round of the All Pakistan Inter-Boards Tennis Championship at Islamabad Tennis Complex on Thursday. The event is being organised by Rawlpindi Education Board, as 11 education boards including Lahore, Peshawar, Multan, Gujranwala, Hyderadad, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Inter Board Karachi, Islamabad and Secondary Board Karachi are taking part in three-day event. On Thursday, Lahore outclassed Peshawar 2-0. Waqas Malik (Lahore) beat Sanaullah (Peshawar) 6-1 and 6-3, while Ali Shah Zaib (Lahore) defeated Muhammad Qasim 6-2 and 6-3. Host Rawlpindi Board thrashed Inter Board Karachi to reach the second round. Rawalpindi's Fazan-ul-Haq won his match against Shoaib with the score-line of 6-2, 6-4 and Sadaam-ul-Haq overcame Ali from Karachi in straight sets 6-1 and 6-3. In the third match, Ali Zubair of Islamabad beat Faizan Fayyaz of Karachi 6-4 and 6-3 and Murtaza Shoaib Islamabad outplayed Saad Shah of Karachi 6-5 and 6-2. Muhammad Khalid, Principal Punjab College of Commerce was the chief guest at the opening ceremony while Raja Tasleem, secretary organising committee was also present on the occasion.
