ISLAMABAD - Legendary cricketer and newly-appointed Director General of the Pakistan Cricket Board Javed Miandad has advised captain Shoaib Malik and his deputy Misbah-ul-Haq to play their natural strokes instead of hitting blindly in international competitions. On Thursday, after the meeting at Ministry of Sports, Shoaib and Misbah asked Javad Miandad to give some tips to improve batting. Maindad advised them to play their natural game and play selective strokes in all the three kinds of cricket Tests, One Day Internationals and Twenty 20. "You should learn from the batting style of great players including Sachin Tendulkar. But, you should avoid hitting rash strokes to get runs," he said. Javed further advised them to concentrate only on their batting. "There is no need to plunge in the affairs of the board and to look into other matters. What is one saying and what is one doing, leave everything and pay your full attention on cricket. Only performance matters - other things are useless, "he said. Later on, Misbhah said: "We should play our natural and selective strokes to get runs if we will play against the natural habits we may lose our wicket at any time and that may also be bit risky," he said.
