ISLAMABAD - The committee set up to review the constitution of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to formulate a sub-committee to make changes in the constitution of the board in light of the suggestions and proposals tabled by the members of committee, former test cricketers as well as other stakeholders. The committee met on Thursday at the office of the Ministr of Sports under the chair of its chairman, Federal Minister for Law, Farooq H Naik, which was also attended by the co-chairman Federal Minister for Sports Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jillani, secretary Muhammad Ashraf Khan, Joint secretary Muhammad Anwar Khan, Director General of Pakistan Sports Board Amir Hamza Gilani, chairman PCB Ijaz Butt, Chief Operating Officer PCB Saleem Altaf, Director General PCB Javed Maindad, former chairman PCB Lt. Gen (Retd) Tauqir Zia, Former test cricketer Sadiq Muhammad, Majid Khan, Salim Malik, captain of the national team Shoaib Malik, vice captain Misbhaul Haq and representatives of various cricket associations. Secretary Sports Muhammad Ashrad Khan gave a detailed presentation to the members of the house to highlight the flaws in the current constitution. He also took a bird's eye view of the Cricket Australia and England constitution to elaborate the participants of the meeting. Chairman PCB Ijaz Butt requested the House not to make any change in the constitution before the ICC Champions Trophy that would be hosted by the Pakistan. "We have to do a lot for the international cricket event and though I agree there is need to make some changes in the constitution of the PCB but there is no hurry to do this, "he added. After the meeting, Federal Minister for Law Farooq H Naik told reporters that the house had agreed to formulate a sub-committee to work on it after seeing the suggestions and proposals of test players and all stakeholders to make constitution flawless and clear for all the cricket lovers. Responding to a question, he said that the whole work would be done in 30 day. "We do not want to delay this. The sub-committee will be named soon with the consultation of the high ups of Pakistan Cricket Board. I will be given a responsibility and I will complete that well in time," he added.
