Lahori`s are always very desperate towards different functions and festivals. Jashan e bahara, Mela Charaghan, Horse and cattle show are celebrated on very wide range in Lahore. Therefore they also got the title of `zinda dil people` nationwide.

From the last year the charm of celebrations and enjoyment has been increased in Lahore when Masala food Festival arranged by Masala and HUM television networks in different cities of Pakistan.

Lahore’s much anticipated family festival-Masala Family Festival 2014, held at the Expo Centre Lahore ended up in the huge applause and applauds by the audiences for the organisers. In this way Lahori`s got the two days of enjoyment.

This festival provided families with an opportunity to plan a perfect day-out, where they met their favorite Masala chefs, shop to their hearts content, watched live cooking demonstrations by Masala chefs, and purchased autographed copies of their favorite cookbooks.

Row of  different brands and stalls of different companies of , beauty creams, jewelery, food products, were there. Specifically Kashmir banaspati,Dawn Bread,Sage leather, Face fresh, Season rice bran oil,crepestop,Jai Pur Kundan jewelary.Stiff on Iron,12Y express, Himalaya herbals,adamjeelife ensurance policy, Krystal collection,Erinas kid wear and stillmans.

Song competition and dance competition was held by different stalls. For the interest of women, hair testing was provided free of cost by head-n-shoulders. On the stall of Ocean Pearl, some ladies gathered for `passing on music` game.

The visitors were also given a chance to win different prizes including motorbikes, washing machines and other household appliances via lucky draws and various fun activities and games.

On asking their experience of attending this festival, one lady said “ we are enjoying a lot in this festival, we have got the chance of doing something else beside cooking and other house hold stuff “

Many ladies have fond of singing. So those ladies were spreading magic of their voices by singing different songs. This opportunity was provided by Face fresh and some other stalls as well.

For the charm of music lovers, a short live concert by “ Humaira Arshad”  also organized on the floor of Masala Food Festival.

The other main highlight of this year’s festival was the kids’ arena, for the entertainment of kids of all ages. The huge and beautifully set-up kids’ arena had wide ranging fun rides, from jumping castles to bowling alleys to the Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, and train rides to keep them occupied.

For the interest of children, entertainments stalls were there .Children were attracted by face painting stalls and different playing opportunities provided in the ground. Jumping tubes were there. Coloring and drawing opportunities for Montessori children was also available on the spot.

A small boy shared his experience of attending masala food festival while doing drawing on a poster that “I am enjoying in this platform because we can freely draw and color the article of our own choice”

Different IQ games were arranged for the children. On winning those games, a small gift hamper was reserved for the winner child.

A mother conveyed her view about Masala Food Festival that “it is the full package for a family. Mostly food is considered as a counter for women in our society and this festival symbolically capture the attentions of women mostly but reality is apart from this concept. There is equal stuff for women and children as well”

Most importantly eatable food stalls were arranged for the visitors. Traditional food like Saag and roti, Naan Haleem, Pathoory, Halwa pori was available for Lahori`s. Moreover Fast food stalls were also there. People were having the food according to their taste.

A family from Lahore said that “The arrangement of installing food stalls is very appropriate. There is no improper rush of people around a single food stall. We can easily order and have the meal of our taste”

Moving towards the most important Chunk of this festival, and this is “Live cooking area”.

People were very happy to found their favorite chefs around them. Live cooking corner was the most appealing place for women in Masala Food Festival.  Visitors met with different chefs. They also got the opportunity to ask some questions and delivered their compliments live.

Chefs entertained their fans by having live talking with them on one hand and live cooking on the other. There was repetition of chefs one by one during 2 days of festival.

A lady in the live cooking area shared her views by saying that “to meet with my favorite chef was once a dream for me, which is now fulfilled under the umbrella of Masala Food festival. These kinds of event provoke and socialize the minds of house wives. ”

This two day activity was finished by sprinkling happiness and enjoyment for the families of Lahore. The weekend was ended but memories of this festival would lasts forever in the minds of visitors.
